Brendan Perlini opened the scoring in the second period for the Wings, who have won two-of-three on the heels of a nine-game skid.
Jonathan Bernier made 39 saves in the victory.
Torey Krug scored the lone goal 33-seconds into the third period for Boston, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.
Tuukka Rask allowed two goals on 19 shots in defeat.
