Detroit erased a third period deficit to beat New Jersey for its third straight win

Justin Abdelkader and Trevor Daley scored scored shorthanded goals in the third period to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils at Little Caesars Arena in NHL action Thursday.

Jimmy Howard made 25 saves for the Red Wings, who have now won three straight after losing seven of their first 10 games -- the worst start in franchise history.

Rookie Michael Rasmussen also scored for Detroit.
