The Red Sox magic Number reduced to six with a 43 win over Toronto

The Red Sox scored the go-ahead run on an error in the bottom of the eighth inning as they beat the Blue Jays 4-3 at Fenway Park.

Toronto had just tied the game with two in the top half on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and an error.

J.D. Martinez hit his 41st home run to tie Oakland's Khris Davis for the league lead and Rafael Devers also went deep as Boston notched its 101st win of the year.

Brandon Workman got the win and Craig Kimbrel his 40th save.

Danny Barnes took the loss.

Boston's magic number to clinch the AL East is now six.
