J.D. Martinez's three-run homer in the fifth inning lifted the Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Chris Sale earned his second win, pitching six innings of three-run ball. Sale did give up two solo shots to Devon Travis and Justin Smoak. Craig Kimbrel closed it out for his seventh save as Boston took the rubber match of the three-game series.
The Sox are 19-and-5, four games ahead of the Yankees and five in front of Toronto for first place in the AL East.
Jays starter Marco Estrada fell to 2-and-2, allowing five runs in five innings.
