Boston rolled over the Blue Jays 72 and became the first team to qualify for the postseason

The Boston Red Sox are the first team in the majors to clinch a playoff berth this season.

They punched their postseason ticket with a 7-2 win over the Blue Jays at Fenway Park.

Brock Holt's three-run, pinch-hit homer in the seventh erased a 2-1 deficit to put Boston in front.

Ryan Brasier got the win, the 99th of the season for the AL East-leading Red Sox.

Boston's magic number to clinch the division is now nine.  Ryan Tepera took the loss for Toronto.

The Jays have traded wins and losses in their last seven games.
