The Red Shoe Society Windsor- Essex is painting the town red.
Young professionals crowded The Water's Edge Event Centre Ivy Courtyard Thursday evening for an evening of networking in the name of charity.
Kick Off in the Courtyard was part fundraiser, part information session, part social gathering according to society president Sara Grace Donally.
"The Red Shoe Society is a group of young professionals dedicated to supporting the Ronald McDonald House here in Windsor and also in London," says Donally. "We raise funds and awareness for this cause. This is one of our first events and we're kicking off here trying to build up the membership."
Donally says people aged 20 to 40 are more likely to need Ronald McDonald Houses over the course of their lives. "Young professionals in this group aged around 20 to 40 years old, that's kind of the demographic that that really uses the house so we really want to support our friends, our peers, our colleagues, and God forbid maybe us at some point."
Ronald McDonald Houses provide families of sick children with a home to stay at while their child is being treated at a nearby hospital.
Donally says the next Red Shoe Society event will be in October.
