Record temperatures in Windsor this Family Day long weekend.
Saturday saw the thermometer rise to 18.8 C shattering the old record of 12.9 C set back in 2011.
And much of the same on Sunday as we hit 17.7 C beating 14.4 C set last year.
Trudy Kidd is with Environment Canada and says it's all courtesy of a warm air mass from the south.
"The jet stream is pretty far north of us. It's definitely further north than we usually see at this time of year. So that means we're just getting a ton of warm air pumping in from the Southern United States. We're under a nice high pressure right now, but by Tuesday we're going to see some showers. So we've got to enjoy the sun while we can."
She says weather wise, we've got a decent week ahead of us as well.
"In Windsor, the average high for this time of year is 1 C, but the rest of the week is still pretty far above the average until Saturday. Saturday we have 1 C in the forecast, but the rest of the week we've got highs of 7 C to 12 C. So it'll be a little while until we cool down again."
Kidd says winter isn't over yet.
"Saturday we might see some flurries. Hopefully not for those of us who like the sunshine and warmth, but there's a chance there for flurries. So definitely don't put coats, hats and mitts away yet."
The the other end of the spectrum, the coldest February 18 took place in 1979 when the temperature dropped to -21.1 C.
The coldest February 19 was -18.9 C back in 1944.
