A record high temperature on Friday in Windsor, but don't expect record-highs to be a trend in the coming weeks.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the temperature was recorded at 22.1 C as of 4pm on Friday, beating the previous 20 C record set in 1964 for March 24.
The temperature would still climb slightly higher to 22.8 as of 5:30pm.
Coulson says the month is ending with warmer than normal temperatures after a bit of a cooler March. However, he says it will likely cool down again beginning later next week.
"It looks like we're going to be dealing more with traditional spring-like weather; some clouds, some showers, but those temperatures are expected to be somewhat milder than normal," says Coulson.
While temperatures will jump up, it won't quite be pleasant out.
"We're going to pay for it though this weekend; forcasted highs between 13 C and 15 C over the weekend but lots of cloud and shower activity from a series of systems moving in from the American midwest," says Coulson.
Coulson doesn't anticipate any other records will fall for the early part of spring even though mild temperatures continue into next week.
"Mild temperatures do stay with us for next week as well, but still a bit unsettled on Monday and Tuesday with the possibility of more showers," says Coulson.
Coulson adds while temperatures may not be persistently warm, there may be persistent rain into early and mid-April.
