A wet couple of days is in store for Windsor-Essex.
Environment Canada is forecasting up to 10mm of rain today and another 10mm tonight.
The rainfall record for February 19th is 10.9mm set in 1974.
The forecast also calls for another 5mm of rain during the day Tuesday before showers end during the day on Wednesday.
Meteorologist Mitch Meredith says they expect the heaviest rain bands to move north of Windsor-Essex. "It's not totally impossible that we could get a thunderstorm at some point today but, right now, we think that the threat is largely going to stay south of Lake Erie, so we haven't put it in the forecast yet. But if we do see something coming on radar we might have the change the forecast a little bit."
"This type of weather is a little bit odd," says Meredith. "This kind of pattern where we get three days of rain and mild, usually we see that kind of weather at the end of March and April. It is going to be a little bit odd that way because we're only into the later stages of February."
Along with the rain, the temperature is expected to warm up to a high of 9C today and 15C on Tuesday.
That could break a record as the high for February 20th is 14C set in 1983.
