Baseball is behind a record breaking weekend for Transit Windsor.
Executive Director Pat Delmore says more than 5300 people used the tunnel bus over the weekend for the Tigers versus Blue Jays series.
He says they only expected about 3000 to 3600 people to ride the bus.
"Friday night we carried over 1500 people, Saturday afternoon we carried over 2300 people and another 1500 again on Sunday so it certainly stretched our resources" says Delmore. " The tunnel and the bridge were both extremely busy and there were some long times to get to and from the event.."
Delmore says transit would like to find out where the riders are coming from, whether it's because hotels are full in Windsor and a lot of them are Toronto residents that have come down here for the weekend or is there more Windsor Essex County residents that are going over.
Delmore credits staff did a great job working additional hours.
The Jays visit Comerica Park once a year.
