As many as 25 rappellers have their sights set on the CIBC building in downtown Windsor.
Today marks the inaugural "Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope" fundraiser.
Participants will rappel the 15-storey building to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Manager of Special Events, Erin Bhatia says there will be about seven wish kids in attendance, cheering on the participants.
"Right now in Windsor-Essex we have 41 wishes on the go, which is our largest amount ever here in this community," says Bhatia. "So these funds raised at this event go directly to grant these wishes."
She says Jim Scott, owner of Ground Effects will kick off the rappel.
"We have about 25 rappellers going down the CIBC building at Riverside Dr. and Ouellette Ave. and they're all raising funds for Make-A-Wish," says Bhatia. "So far about $50,000 has been raised for wishes to be granted here in Windsor-Essex."
AM800's Patty Handysides will rappel the building at 10am.
