After a week off, the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada returns to action this week at the first-ever Windsor Championship at Ambassador Golf Club.
156 golfers look to become the first champion in Windsor.
The Purse is $200,000/$36,000 winner's prize.
The Mackenzie Tour represents the first step on the path to the PGA TOUR, with players competing to earn a promotion to the Web.com Tour and then on to the game's biggest stage.
Heading into its sixth season, the Mackenzie Tour counts 14 players on the PGA TOUR and an additional 72 with Web.com Tour, featuring winners Mackenzie Hughes, Nick Taylor, Tony Finau and most recently Aaron Wise.
Full time NHL ref Garrett Rank is set to tee it up with the Mackenzie Tour this afternoon.
Rank is coming in hot after a playing at Shinnecock Hills at the U.S. Open just a few weeks ago.
Rank says there's pressure in both officiating and golf.
"There's pressure to hit a good shot or you have to make a decisive decision and being able to move on from a bad call, we're gonna make mistakes as a hockey official and you're going to hit a couple bad shots every round."
Rank says he tried to learn from playing in the U.S. Open and used that to win the Mid-Amateur.
"I took the positive experience from the U.S. Open and the confidence I gained from there and hopefully my game stacked up and had a good week and took out my frustration on the boys and won by ten."
