The Windsor Spitfires have been dealt their first loss of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Spitfires were doubled up by the Kitchener Rangers 4-2 Thursday night at home to move to 3-1 on the season.
Former Spitfire Logan Stanley made his return to the WFCU Centre netting a goal and adding an assist for the Rangers.
A ceremony and video presentation was held for Stanley before the game.
He says it was emotional.
"It was really fun. A nice ceremony at the start. A big thanks to the Spits for doing that. You never really know what to expect. It was kind of emotional and brought a little tear to my eye."
Stanley says it felt good to be back.
"It was a fun game. Weird seeing some of those guys on the ice. Just good to get two points."
Luke Boka and Aaron Luchuk were the goal scorers for Windsor.
Boka says the attitude on the Spitfire bench is very positive.
"I thought we played a real good game. We were right close with them. The team is going in the right direction and that's the most important thing. We're coming in with an attitude to win every game and it's just all about the process and we're going to keep getting better. It's positive, but we've got a lot of work to do."
Michael DiPietro stopped 20 of 24 shots in the loss.
Windsor now has a week off before returning back to action next Thursday as they host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
