The Rams held off a fourth-quarter rally from the 49ers to pull out a 41-39 win at Levi's Stadium. San Francisco had a chance to tie the game on a two-point conversion, but Brian Hoyer threw an incomplete pass.
They then recovered the ensuing onside kick before the possession ended on an Aaron Donald sack on fourth down. Jared Goff threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while Todd Gurley piled up 149 total yards and three scores to help Los Angeles improve to 2-and-1.
Sammy Watkins had six catches for 106 yards and two TDs in the victory. Carlos Hyde hit pay dirt on the ground twice for the Niners, who are 0-and-3 under new head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Brian Hoyer completed 23-of-37 passes for 332 yards, two TDs and one interception. Hoyer also added a rushing touchdown.
