With flags waving and a red Hybrid Chrysler Pacifica in the background, a rally called for a change in the federal budget.
Around 100 people gathered at the corner opposite the Windsor Assembly Plant where the Pacifica is assembled.
One provision in the budget gives a $5000 rebate to the sale of any zero emission vehicle under $45,000.
The Windsor-built Pacifica is the only Canadian-made zero emission vehicle, but it's price starts just over $51,000.
Unifor Local 444 President Dave Cassidy and local New Democrat MP's Brian Masse (Windsor West), Cheryl Hardcastle (Windsor Tecumseh) and Tracey Ramsey (Essex) spoke.
Hardcastle says the Canadian government could have done a much better job.

"Government is capable of doing better and I know that's why our young people are here today, they know, Canada they're proud of this country and thank yo for being here, they know we're capable of doing better, we're capable of being leaders, we need a strategy and this is just the height of the example of where we need to go"
Ramsey says the Liberal government already told Canadian where they stand.

"When Justin Trudeau came down to London during the campaign and said manufacturing is dead in Canada. Manufacturing is done in Canada. That told us right then and there that this Liberal government will never stand up for working people whose job and families depend on manufacturing in Canada."
Tracey Ramsey says people need to speak out about this oversight.
People at the rally were encouraged to write to Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau to change the provision to include the Pacifica.
