Environment Canada is continuing a rainfall warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
A storm system passing over the area is expected to bring 40 to 70 mm of rain between now and Saturday before tapering off to showers late Saturday night.
Meteorologist David Rogers says "there will be 10 to 20 mm of rain during the day on Thursday, 15 to 25 mm Thursday night and another 15 to 25mm on Friday."
"The bulk of the rain will be Thursday into Friday morning," says Rogers. "We're not expecting any thunderstorms but there will be a raw east wind. We're forecasting gusts of 30 to 50 km/h, so it may be a bit hard to work those umbrellas in this rain."
