Windsor-Essex has broken a rainfall record.
According to Environment Canada, we received 15.4 mm of rain on Monday, February 19 which breaks the previous record of 10.9 mm of rain set in 1974.
Meanwhile, expect more runoff and surface flooding with the additional rain in Windsor-Essex.
The flood watch remain in effect by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
Another 15 mm are expected today and another 15 mm tomorrow.
ERCA's Water Resources Engineer John Henderson says the warmer temperatures have helped in one area.
"What it has also done, is that it has allowed the ice in the waterways to soften up and water seems to be kinda moving the ice through without causing any significant concerns at the moment," says Henderson.
"Where we sit today though being that we are so wet and water is already laying pretty much everywhere, the rate doesn't play as big of a role again because the water is probably going to run off anyway because there is no more ability for the ground to take that runoff."
The flood watch remains in effect until Wednesday morning.
