Baseball diamond opening this weekend on hold after rain turns fields to mud
Mother Nature has called a rain delay for the opening of the City of Windsor's sports fields.
The Parks Department has the baseball fields just about ready to go, but the current heavy rains have made the opening this weekend impossible.
Officials warn that playing on the fields in these conditions could cause significant damage.

The rain has also interfered with the final touches scheduled for this week, such as a final turf cut, re-grooming of the diamonds and line painting.
The state of the fields will be reassessed Monday.
The rest of the City’s sports fields, which were scheduled to open at the end of next week, will be evaluated as well.
