Rick Mears — known to many as "Rocket Rick" — is a four-time Indianapolis 500 winner and current Team Penske team advisor who raced for three years on the downtown Detroit street circuit
He tells AM800's Steve Bell that since he retired from racing, he likes to stay involved in whatever way he can.
"There's no set thing that I do, during the races I'll spot for Hélio (Castroneves) and now he's running a sports car dealer and any time I spot for him is at Indy but the rest of the time I'm still working with the rest of the other drivers and the engineers to try and help to build a better mouse trap."
