Officers with the Windsor police-Amherstburg detachment are being credited for saving a man's life after his car ended up in a water-filled ditch.
On Saturday, October 26th at 11:45pm, police responded to a crash on County Rd. 11 where a vehicle had overturned into a ditch and the driver was trapped.
Police found the vehicle deep in the ditch and the driver was calling out for help.
There were only 4-6 inches remaining inside the vehicle above the water line.
Police managed to break the rear window and rescue the man.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He was arrested and is facing a charge of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
