With more and more people getting tested for COVID-19, the chief of staff at Windsor Regional Hospital wants to clear up any confusion.
Dr. Wassim Saad says if people are going to get tested at the assessment centre and they do not have any symptoms, they do not need to quarantine themselves while waiting for the results.
He says if the person gets the results back and is positive for COVID-19, then they must quarantine themselves.
The hospital announced Tuesday night that it is expanding its hours of operations for the general public to get tested, if they want to.
If a person presents with even one symptom, then they will be asked to self-isolate while waiting for the results.
The assessment centre at the Ouellette Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital is now open 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4pm on the weekend.
On Wednesday, a record high of 319 people went for testing at the Ouellette campus.
The influx of people wanting to get tested comes after Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced all Ontarians were eligible for the test, regardless if they have symptoms or not.
