If you're a county resident looking for a job, the Greater Essex County District School Board wants to help you out.
The board is expanding its Employment Assessment Centre programming to a number of county library branches.
Centre Manager Debra DiDomenico says the goal is to reach more clients by bringing the employment opportunities to them.
She says they're been offering the service since 1998.
"We deliver services to unemployed individuals that are looking for work," says DiDomenico. "We deliver group sessions, resume, mock interviews for their interviews that they would attend, we help identify their skills so that we can get them into the right job.
She says they're got centres in Windsor, Essex, Kingsville and Leamington, but other areas are underserved.
"What we saw was possibly a gap. Communities like Tecumseh, LaSalle, Cottam, Harrow, Comber where there might be individuals who have a difficult time getting into one of our centres. So we thought of a creative way to get our services out to them."
The new satellite Employment Assessment Centres are located at the LaSalle and Tecumseh libraries. The public school board plans to expand the service to several other county library branches by October.
