The chair of the Greater Essex County District School Board is hoping to make it easier for the public to know what's going on at the board.
Jessica Sartori will introduce a notion of motion to livestream board meetings in the future.
She says it will increase transparency and improve public engagement.
Sartori says other boards across the province already do it.
"At the public education symposium in January of this year, I was able to talk to a couple of colleagues in other boards and they are currently doing livestreaming," she says.
Sartori also thinks it would make it easier for busy moms and dads to tune in.
"Not everybody can make it out to our board meetings, sometimes not very many people do attend our board meetings so I thought how can we bring it to them," she says.
Sartori says there are cost effective ways of livestreaming the meetings with new technology.
She has discussed the idea with some of her colleagues at the board level and believes, in general, trustees are supportive.
Although the idea will be raised at Tuesday's board meeting, a vote on actually introducing livestreaming will take place in the future.
