Officials with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing are in Essex County today assessing the damage from last weekend's storm.
Several homes from Wheatley to Kingsville were flooded and damaged by the waters crashing in from Lake Erie during the April 14-15 storm.
Some roads were also washed out.
Officials will determine if area residents are eligible for the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program to help homeowners with emergency costs that aren't covered by insurance.
The program does not cover shoreline protection or breakwalls.
Kingsville Mayor Nelson Santos tells AM800 News, he hopes to hear back from the province within a couple of weeks so residents can apply for the funding.
