Math continues to be a struggle for students at the Greater Essex County District School Board.

According to the latest results of the province-wide tests from the Education Quality and Accountability Office,  the number of students meeting the provincial standard in Grades 3 and 6 math, continues to be down on average between 5% to 7% over the past five years.

Compared to last year's results, Grade 3 and 6 students performed the same in math.

But the number of Grade 9 students who met the provincial standard in applied math was up 10% compared to a year ago.

The results for the other subjects in reading and writing were up compared to last year and compared to the five-year average.

The results for Grade 10 students in literacy were stable.
