Ontario's Premier came to Windsor mostly to listen.
Kathleen Wynne spent more than an hour at a round-table session that included many sectors of the local community.
Leaders from business, education, charitable groups and labour were at the table.
Wynne spent most of the time focused on Bill 148, which increases the minimum wage to $15 an hour in 2019 and makes other adjustments to labour relation.
She told reporters afterwards she understands some sectors such as food service face challenges.

"We want to be fair to businesses and as well to employees," said Wynne "but restaurant owners in particular have talked to me about other fees they pay that come off their payroll cheques some of the fees they pay to the LCBO for example"
She says the wage issue is just part of the entire picture and they need to avoid unintended consequences.
Wynne says the greenhouse sector and agriculture overall could be impacted not jest because of the minimum wage change, but also scheduling wich is different than in other industries.
She says this session is part of their consultation on the bill and she expects there will be modifications before it's introduced at Queen's Park.
