Substance used in target practice missing

An investigation is underway after a car containing a potentially volatile substance was stolen.

Windsor Police say a Toyota RAV4 was taken from an underground parking garage on Riverside Drive sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The owner told officers that 10 half-pound containers of unmixed tannerite were inside the vehicle -- that substance is used in target practice and can explode when mixed with other agents and hit by a high powered projectile.

Last night, the vehicle was found in the 900-block of Windsor Avenue but the license plates and the tannerite were gone.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
