The State of Michigan is acting fast to make recreational marijuana legal.
The decision rests with the State Board of Canvassers since passing in a ballot option November 6, 2018.
The board has announced the change to legal will happen one month after voters approved it, as of December 6, 2018.
As of that date, adults over the age of 21 are allowed to possess up to 2.5 oz of marijuana and grow up to 12 plants per household.
The initiative also allows for licensing of businesses that grow, process, test, transport or sell marijuana.
Municipalities would still be able to prohibit or limit the number and types of facilities within their boundaries.
