A popular pizza shop in south Windsor is looking to move next to its current location.
Joe Ciaravino is owner of Antonino's Original Pizza at the corner of Howard Avenue and North Talbot.
He says he has two more years left on his current lease however talks with the landlord have come to a standstill and he has purchased the residential property at 4350 Howard Ave. and is looking to build a two storey commercial-residential building.
Ciaravino says he's looking to build a two storey building with the pizza shop on the lower level.
"It's going to be really cool with the new trend towards mixed commercial and residential. We're going to have apartments upstairs so it's going to fit right in with that new plan of urban planning," says Ciaravino.
On Monday, the city's Planning Committee approved the switched from residential to commercial for the purchased property.
The issue still has to go to city council for final approval.
If approved, the home 4350 Howard would be torn down and construction would start within the year.
