Windsor Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a driver who allegedly struck a 17-year-old girl on Howard Avenue and fled the scene.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on August 9, officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 2600 block of Howard Avenue.

Through investigation, officers learned that four teenagers were crossing the road when a car travelling southbound on Howard at a high rate of speed struck the teen girl.

The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer-model grey Ford Escape.

Residents and drivers in the area are being asked to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence, specifically between 9 and 10 p.m. on August 9.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has information or video footage of the incident, is asked to contact Windsor Police or Crime Stoppers.
