Windsor Police Service says one man was sent to hospital with nonlife threatening injuries

A loss prevention officer at a Windsor store is in hospital after being stabbed.

It happened at a store at 2430 Dougall Ave. around 8pm Thursday.

Windsor Police say the victim was attempting to arrest a man, suspected of theft, when the stabbing took place.

Police say the store employee was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and his alleged attacker was taken into custody.

A Windsor man in his mid ‘30s — who is known to police — now faces several charges.

Major Crimes is handling the investigation.
