A large curved wall at the Sun Parlour long-term care home will soon echo Point Pelee National Park.
Mural painter Martin Lacasse is depicting the park for residents and staff as a morale booster.
It includes wildlife, canoeists, the signature boardwalk and is highlighted by a large monarch butterfly.
Lacasse says the painting breaks all the boundaries and lets the viewer participate.
He says he starts with creating a focal point.
"Everything works around that image, so in this case it was the monarch because, as we know, it's one of the most recognizable butterflies for our area and not to mention it's a frequent visitor at the Point."

Lacasse says he did some research at the park.
"I went to the Point a few times, but last year was my most recent visit. I went right to the Point and I took a kazillion photos."
He says wildlife and nature are popular.
"It puts a smile on everyone's face and it puts, first of all, a smile on my heart and my face when I unleash the brush and this nature scene comes to life. You know people cannot help but stop and smile."
It's the fifth mural he's done at the facility and he says he hopes to do more in the future.
