A planning consultant working for the Town of LaSalle says they're mainly on the right track.
Ron Palmer helped the town put together its Official Plan update together.
LaSalle Council has approved the 20-year plan and it’s now going to the County of Essex for final approval.
Palmer say the town has great assets like the Vollmer Centre, which is unique in a community of its size.
"People want to live here because they can walk to all the services and facilities that are provided here," he says. "It's a great opportunity for this to continue and that's what this plan is about."
One area of the town, Palmer feels needs help is the waterfront.
"It's struggling to attract new investment and the municipality I think needs to take a role in trying to reverse that trend and promote change, positive change in that part of the town."
