New Pistons head coach Dwane Casey says he loves the energy his guys are showing as they begin training camp in Ann Arbor.
Casey said the first practice was focused on the defensive end and getting every one on the same page with his philosophy.
He also said the players competed hard and that it was a good first day.
Reggie Jackson, who suffered a severe ankle sprain last season, and Jon Leuer, who underwent knee surgery during the summer, were limited in drills.
Luke Kennard and Khyri Thomas, who both dealt with injuries in the offseason, were full participants yesterday.
Detroit will hold practices through Friday on the campus of the University of Michigan, then break camp after a scrimmage Saturday at Crisler Center.
