A celebration for the 1st anniversary of the Bob Probert Tecumseh Campus of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH).
The new site on Lanoue Street opened in March of 2025 in honour of the late NHL player.
The centre offers Cardiac Wellness, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, and the Geriatric Assessment Program.
Care has been provided to 422 patients, including more than 100 seniors, and has supported over 9,100 visits and appointments.
Operations Manager of Ambulatory Services Rosie Pipitone-Middleton says they are reducing barriers to better serve local communities.
“A lot of individuals unfortunately don’t have the ability to access services at the Windsor west end so we did know that offering services out on the east end would have a positive impact. I think these numbers though surprised even us,” she says.
Pipitone-Middleton adds they are reaching more patients in other parts of the region.
“We do have patients who may have in the past said no to services because they can’t get to the west side but will now say yes to services because we are closer to them. So I think our numbers will continue to grow and there’s always room for growth in terms of program expansion as well.”
Referrals to the Tecumseh centre can be sent to main HDGH campus off Prince Road where they are triaged and accommodations will be made to the best of their ability.
HDGH says they achieved a 100% overall patient satisfaction rate for experience at the Bob Probert Tecumseh Campus.
Probert, a longtime NHL enforcer for the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, died of a sudden heart attack on July 5, 2010, at the age of 45, after collapsing while boating on Lake St. Clair.
