An Essex County pharmacy has come up with a new high-tech way to make getting the flu shot fun.
Brady's Drug Store, in Essex and Belle River, is using a virtual reality goggles to help distract people who are anxious about getting a needle.
People can watch puppies, swimming dolphins or explore outer space and before they know it, they've received the shot.
This from Pharmacist Tim Brady who admits some people are nervous about needles.
"People are always coming up with reasons on why you shouldn't get your flu shot so the biggest one is I'm too afraid. We are trying to find new ways of distracting and if we can make the flu shot fun, which is pretty difficult but we will try our best, this is a new way, so we just use new technology."
He says it's important for everyone to get the shot.
"Everybody should, now the biggest issue is people saying why, I just get a little sick, it is really not, it is for those that if you have babies around or elderly parents, somebody who has got an illness, you don't want to be the person who gets them sick."
Brady says he started the program specifically for kids, but it's been popular with adults as well.
