An unusual exhibit in downtown Windsor had people turning their heads.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA held a lunch hour protest at Ouellette and University calling for people to go turkey-free this Thanksgiving.
Two giant plastic turkeys and a nude male protester with skin-coloured boxers were lying on the ground with a sign that read "We are all the same."
"Look at turkeys as the individuals that they are," says PETA Campaign Emily Lavender. "They have a will to live instead of a centrepiece on a holiday table."
"Thanksgiving at its core is about kindness and appreciation and spending time with family and traditions are always changing and it is time to bring a cruelty free kind meal to your holiday table," says Lavender.
Vegan starter kits were being handed out.
Lavender says turkeys have feelings too and suffer when they die.
