The mayor of Pelee Island wants the harassment of municipal staff to stop.
Speaking on AM800's The Morning Drive, Cathy Miller says council unanimously supported a motion Tuesday night, to create a policy to address harassment from the public towards municipal staff, committees and council.
She wishes a policy wasn't needed but says staff deserve to have a harassment free workplace.
"This is something that I think a lot of municipal staff and elected officials and volunteers of municipalities may have level of experience with but it's a different type of harassment or a different type of behaviour when you're dealing with elected officials and municipality employees, it's just different," she says.
