The report is still a bit of a surprise as Patricia had previously preferred to land in NY, according to TSN.
Lions General Manager Bob Quinn is familiar with Patricia, having previously worked in the Pats front office.
If the five time Super Bowl champion were to land in Detroit, the announcement would have to wait until after the Patriots are eliminated from the playoffs.
Patricia interviewed with Detroit's front office two-weeks-ago.
