The face and voice of poverty reduction in Windsor-Essex is looking for a new way to move the agenda forward.
After nearly 8 years in the role as Executive Director of Pathway to Potential, Adam Vasey says he's stepping back to look for a new role.
Vasey says he decided in late October it was time to take a different direction.
He says the work he's been doing won't come to an end, but will be brought in house at the Community Services and Health Department.
Vasey says there are a number of things he's been involved with he's proud of: "I'm very proud of the fact that people who experience poverty with lived experience, they have found a way to be included in the work and to find their voices and to develop leadership and advocate on their own behalf and their own terms"
He admits he doesn't have a new position yet to go to, but felt strongly personally and professionally it was time for a change.
Vasey says among the issues he is happy to have been an advocate for is the idea of a "living wage" which has taken root in the area.
Even though the downtown location has closed, Vasey will remain with Pathway to Potential until January 20th and is open to new opportunities.
