The partnership between Armando's and Tunnel Bar-B-Q is over.
The two companies ended their partnership last month after one year.
In September 2016, they announced a joint venture where TBQ products such as ribs, chicken and sauces would be sold at Armando's restaurants.
TBQ CEO Helena Ventrella says the two sides decided to end their partnership after some branding issues came up
"Armando's has decided to focus on their brand and we've decided to focus on ours. I think we both agreed that it's difficult to do both things well."
She says despite the branding struggles, she was pleased with the partnership.
"They're a great family. It's a really good group of people and everybody did what they could do, what they knew and everyone was trained. I think it was a really great trial and it doesn't mean that we won't work together again in the future, but just in a different way."
Ventrella adds, there are no hard feelings between the two companies.
"We tried to do something that was a little radical and different by licencing, sort of like a Broasters Chicken concept and we just decided to take a different approach. I thought the brand was too important to just be absorbed under a different brand."
Ventrella says TBQ ribs and chicken can by found at Beau's Grillery in Bloomfield, Michigan.
She says sauces and spices are still available at local grocery stores and butcher shops.
