A partnership between the Windsor Essex Humane Society, Parker Construction DKI and Tecumseh Fire is aimed at saving pets trapped in a house fire.
A $1500 donation from Parker has gone to create a sticker that goes on the home's window to alert emergency responders there's a pet inside.

Tecumseh Fire, Fire Prevention Officer Bob Hamilton says cats are known to hide in the event of a fire.
"During an emergency a lot of times these young ones will actually hide inside a home especially the cats. They're afraid and they'll find a place where they're going to be safe," says Hamilton. "Usually dogs are going to follow the rest of the family. They're a little bit more tuned to that."
Hamilton says residents can become agitated if they think they've left a pet behind.
"A lot of times again they'll come up to us and say 'my dog's still in the house.' Our firefighters will do their best to get into the house we have to take care of the fire if there's a fire going on. But typically we want to make sure that everyone's safe, even the pets.
