Heather Hartley says it was cool to watch the event with others.
"I wanted to see how much eclipse happened here but I wanted to do it where there were other peple so I wanted to see who else was interested and just be part of it" said Hartley, "I built my little pinhole box to be able ot see the projection of the eclipse on the paper and it actually shocks me"
"Some lady came over and gave us a pair of glasses and we saw it at the best and it was orange, bright orange like a crescent moon. Bright orange" according to Jeff Hooper. "The strangest thing they sold out of glasses 'cause they were stuck at customs"
Priscilla Boismier says she thought it might have been more like a full eclipse but it didn't get as dark as she thought.
All across North America people gathered to stre up at the sun for the celestial event.
