A steady stream of parents are coming to the Ouellette Avenue office of the Windsor Essex County Health Unit.
They're looking to get their children vaccinated or to update their immunization record.
This is the first day the health unit is enforcing the immunization regulation and as of today 578 students are suspended.
Arriana Befke says it's a bit frustrating because of the circumstances.
"Yeah, because originally my son had his shots, but because it was done two days before the recommended day, they made me come here. I was supposed to be on bed rest"
Manu Peter is a nurse at Windsor Regional, who says he's trying to verify his son's vaccinations done in Mauritius, where he was working at the time.
"We did all the immunization up to date and we gave all the records to the school, probably when they read it they don't understand. I'm not blaming them but probably they might need some clarification"
Zena Wahbi has just moved from Alberta and is trying to get the records straight for her child.
"I was surprised, I don't like sharing with my kids too much. He did it before and he came here again because he's due"
Stacey Manzerolle is in charge of the Healthy Schools Program and says they're actually doing better than in previous years.

She says there are fewer suspensions despite a larger student population across the region.
Manzerolle points out there were initially about 2300 suspension notices sent out.
