The Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica has a new title it's now the official vehicle of the 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup.
Windsor Spitfires co-owner Bob Boughner made the announcement with FCA Canada VP of Sales and Marketing Bill Levasseur today. They shook hands in front of a hybrid version of the minivan at the FCA Canadian headquarters on Riverside Dr.
Levasseur says it was a natural connection to make:
"You've got two fan favorites here you've got Canada's favorite minivan and Canada's favorite sport," says Levasseur. "It's only fitting the fact it's coming to Windsor to have the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica as the official vehicle."
Levasseur says a fleet of 30 or more Pacificas will shuttle dignitaries for the event.
"We'll have more than just one vehicle out there there'll be a multitude of vehicles we'll be providing as part of the sponsorship to make sure the players and executives will be transported form the hotels to the venue," says Levasseur.
Levasseur says none of the Pacificas being used for the Memorial Cup will be hybrids, because they literally can't keep them on dealer lots because they're so popular.
