Over 300 positions are up for grabs in a huge job fair in Chatham-Kent.
Over 45 Chatham-Kent employers will attend the event Tuesday, October 23, looking for qualified workers in a variety of sectors from health care, to child care and manufacturing.
About 600 job seekers are expected to attend.
Project Manager of the Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board Kristy Jacobs says the job fair was prompted by the results of a survey to employers earlier this year.
"One of the questions we asked was, have you had problems filling positions in your organization and a large majority of our employers who responded said 'yes', we did and the number one reason is that we don't have enough candidates coming through," said Jacobs.
In a similar event in 2017, 25 employers attended with 250 jobs available.
"409 job seekers came through and there was a lot of great feedback from the employers," she says.
The job fair takes place at the John D Bradley Centre at 565 Richmond St. in Chatham-Kent.
