The Stanley cup is just a few hours away in Huron County on Thursday, for events in Seaforth and Goderich with St Louis Blues Forward Ryan O'Reilly
On Sunday, it will be in Lakeshore.
Former Windsor Spitfire and assistant coach of the Champion Blues, Steve Ott will have Lord Stanley at the Atlas Tube Centre.
Ott says the dream of winning the Stanley Cup starts at a young age.
"This was my personal dream, to hoist this thing. I never got to do it as an NHL player, but to do it as an NHL coach means just as much."
He says brining the cup to the area is a way to thank people who sacrificed for him.
"Especially my parents and my family, my sister and all those years that we put in to have a moment like this, to have a true celebration with the Stanley Cup. It's a Canadian hockey player's dream and a family dream to have this all come together."
Ott says it was an honour to win the Stanley Cup with the Blues.
"They pushed to another level that I never thought possible. We had guys coming back with injuries, we had guys that we had to push through injuries, and guys that continue to just play for each other and it was unbelievable to see first-hand."
People are asked to bring a canned good to be donated to the Community Support Centre of Essex County and Community Food Pantry.
AM800's Steve Bell is MCing the event.
