Ontario Provincial Police are not apologizing for issuing the AMBER Alert early this morning.
Police say they continue to receive complaints after the alert was issued around 3am Thursday when a grandfather and two young boys went missing in the Newmarket area.
They were later found in good health as a "direct result" of the Amber Alert.
The OPP say they recognize the inconvenience the alert may have caused, but calling 911 or any emergency service communication centre is not an appropriate venue to complain.
In 2019, there were five AMBER alerts issued and four helped in the safe return of the missing child or children.
Police say the decision to issue the alert is based on established criteria and is not taken lightly.
