The OPP is reminding boaters that floatation devices save lives after a sailor flirted with death last week.
OPP were called to Lake St. Clair near Lakeshore just before 7 p.m. on July18th.
The distress call came after the operator of a sailboat fell overboard without a personal floatation device — leaving three people on board who didn't know how to steer the sailboat.
Provincial police were able to get the vessel under control while the U.S. Coast Guard located the man in the water.
Police say he had been treading water for more than 30-minutes.
