Two Kitchener-area men have pleaded guilty for illegally catching too many walleye in Lake Erie.
And, as a result, each was fined $5,000 in a Windsor courtroom this week.
Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry officers inspected what the anglers caught back on July 29th at the Leamington Municipal Marina.
Officers found 50 walleye in two coolers — that's 38 more than the possession limit of six per person.
In addition to the fines, the walleye and fishing gear were forfeited to the Crown.
